  • ​1,200 children injured monthly in traffic incidents within 500m of UK schools

Weapon-Related Violence​​​​
  • ​​​631 knife-related incidents recorded in UK schools in a single year - including possession and assaults
     

  • 1,576 weapon-based school crimes in London alone over four years, including 13 firearms and one attempted murder
     

  • Knife crime in London has risen 67% since 2016, peaking at 16,344 incidents in 2024 
     

  • 1 in 20 teenage children in England and Wales report having used a weapon to threaten or hurt someone in the past year 
     

  • Over 2% (equivalent to 86,667 13-17-year-olds nationally) say they’ve carried a knife​

National Trauma Overview
  • 45,000 people in England suffer major trauma annually
     

  • 500,000 individuals experience less severe trauma annually
     

  • 4,700 major haemorrhage cases a year; 1,300 classified as massive haemorrhage
     

  • 40,000 adolescent trauma cases analysed by TARN over a decade (50% traffic-related and 20% intentional injury)
